Colony I

Civilization is in constant motion, occupying new spaces initially out of curiosity but inevitably out of necessity. In this collection of photographs taken with a phone camera in New Mexico’s Bisti Badlands, various ground formations and small rock fragments seemingly depict aerial views of migrating colonies, swirling around and traversing an imaginary landscape, welcoming those displaced or unwanted into a world hidden beneath our feet.
